The first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming has swung onto the web and from the looks of things this is the best adaptation of the wall crawler yet.
After shocking everyone (Sony’s lawyers included) with his incredible appearance in Captain America: Civil War Spidey (Tom Holland) is back in movie that looks so good I fear I’ve died and gone to comic book adaptation heaven!
It’s cool to see that the movie’s going to tackle Pete’s horribly awkward social life as well as his role as an arachnid themed superhero, something that previous adaptations have neglected.
Of course it wouldn’t be a super hero film without a super villain and Michael Keaton, in a rather ironic role, is here playing some kind of bird man called the Vulture, one of Spidey’s iconic villains.
Peter won’t have to face the Vulture alone though he’s got his mentor Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) to back him up, as well as gifting him some pretty nifty toys.
The film’s directed by Jon Watts, who also directed the wonderful schlock Clown, and stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya and Donald Glover,
Spider-Man: Homecoming webs its way into theatres July 7 2017.
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
