Ahhh the good old burger – and the debate about who makes it best!

We have the Whopper, the Big Mac, the Vegetable Deluxe – yes vegetarian’s can enjoy burgers too you know. But forget all of them because now, we have quantifiable proof of who is responsible for cooking up the best.

A staple part of our hangover diet, according to a latest study, Five Guys claim the coveted title of best burger chain.

Harris Poll’s EquiTrend Study, which was responsible for the find, asked 100,000 Americans from all across the country who their favourite was.

Now I can’t say I’ve ever sampled an In-N-Out burger, but they’ve been top for two years prior to their toppling from Five Guys and now sit in second place.

In order, they were followed by, Shake Shack, Wendy’s, Culver’s, Whataburger, Mcdonald’s, sonic America’s Drive-In, Smashburger and last but not least, Steak’n Shake.

I’m surprised Burger King didn’t make the list, (I love their pancakes), but apparently, they were still listed for consideration, along with Checker’s/Rally’s, DQ Grill & Chill, Hardee’s, Jack in the Box and White Castle.

According to Business Insider, in 2013 only 48% of respondents were familiar with Five Guys and now, that figure has grown to 68%, with Five Guys reaching 81% familiarity with Gen Z and millennials.

As much as I may love a cheaper burger, you can’t argue with Five Guys and their build-your-own style – it’s useful if you’re one of those people that flings the gherkin slice off!

Still can’t believe Good Burger or the Krusty Krab didn’t make the list!
