A man in Florida has reportedly been arrested after eating handfuls of pasta aggressively at a branch of Olive Garden.

Police officers were called to the Olive Garden branch in Naples, Florida, after being made aware of a disturbance.

Upon arriving at the popular chain restaurant, officers found 32-year-old Ben Padgett sat on a bench close to the front door.

Padgett, of Naples, was reportedly shirtless and smelt of alcohol. He was observed by officers to be shoveling handfuls of spaghetti into his mouth using his hands.

According to a police report obtained by the Miami Herald Padgett had asked Olive Garden clientele for money as they approached the front entrance.

When a restaurant employee asked him to stop doing this, Padgett reportedly threatened them, stating, ‘I could beat your ass’.

After the employee went back inside the restaurant, Padgett followed him and loudly enquired whether ‘he had male or female sex organs’.

Once he was back outside the Olive Garden, Padgett could be heard ‘muttering obscenities’ and begging people for money, all while shoving handfuls of spaghetti into his mouth.

Once police officers arrived, they reported gave him paper towels so he could clean the pasta from himself. After they placed him in handcuffs, Padgett started to twist his body and kick his legs about.

After police officers helped him into the back of the police car, Padgett reportedly caused himself an injury by bashing his head against the metal cage of the car’s partition and taken to a hospital where he was treated for a bloody forehead.

Padgett was charged with disorderly intoxication, as well as resisting an officer without violence, and was taken to the Naples Jail Center. He has since been released on $2,000 bond.
