Legendary sauce-makers, Heinz, have revealed the closely-guarded inside-secret to getting ketchup out of their glass bottles…
Now, before we go any further, of course many people abandoned glass bottles in favour of plastic easy-squeezy-stay-clean Johnny-come-latelys years ago – and your decision is respected.
However, there are those of us – the traditionalists, the purists among sauce lovers – stoic types who relish (pun intended) a challenge when attempting to apply our condiments.
And believe you me, for us this is bloody big news.
A spokesperson for Heinz recently told Mirror Online:
To release ketchup faster from a glass bottle, here is a little secret… The sweet spot to tap on the Heinz bottle is the embossed 57 on the neck.
All you need to do is apply a firm tap where the bottle narrows, and the ketchup will come out easier.

All those years of despair, desperately and hopelessly rattling a knife round to no avail and the answer’s been staring us in the face all along.
What is more, a statement on Heinz’s website says that only 11 per cent of people know about this life-changing tip.

So do your bit guys, spread the word and bring unbridled joy to six other people who still buy ketchup in glass bottles.
It’s important to stick together on this.
