Here’s How To Make A Delicious Slow Cooked Beef And Ale Stew

Ingredients:

– 500g diced stewing steak
– 40g flour
– 2x onions (diced)
– 2x carrots (diced)
– 1x swede (diced)
– 2x garlic cloves (minced)
– 2x bay leaves
– Sprig Rosemary
– Sprig Thyme
– 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– 1x Oxo cube
– 2 tbsp tomato puree
– 500ml ale

Method:

First, season the steak then coat in the flour.

Heat some oil and fry the steak until golden brown and crispy all over.

Remove from the pan and add the carrot, onion and garlic. Fry until softened slightly – about 5 minutes.

Add the cooked vegetables to the slow cooker, followed by the swede, steak, bay leaves, herbs, Worcestershire sauce, Oxo cube, tomato puree and the ale.

Cook for about 5 hours – until the steak is really tender and the sauce has thickened into a silky gravy. Serve with mashed potato and some kale.
