Ingredients:
For the meatballs:
– 450g beef mince
– 1 tbsp garlic powder
– 1 tbsp thyme
– 1 tbsp oregano
For the Marinara sauce:
– 1 tsp chopped garlic
– 1 tsp chopped chilli
– 250ml passata
– 1 tsp oregano
– Basil
To finish:
– 1 baguette
– 75g Mozzarella
– 75g Cheddar
Method:
First, for the meatballs, combine the mince, garlic powder, thyme and oregano and roll into 12 meatballs.
Next, make the Marinara. Fry the garlic and chilli in about 1 tbsp of oil over a medium heat taking care not to burn it, then add the oregano.
Add the passata and simmer for about 10 minutes, then remove it from the heat.
Next, fry the meatballs for about 6-8 minutes – until they’re mostly cooked. Then add a couple of tbsp of marinara sauce to coat them all.
Slice your baguette in half lengthways and load it up with meatballs, then sauce, then both types of cheese and grill it for about 5 minutes – until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
Now, enjoy!
