Fast-food giants KFC are running low on chicken and people are up in arms about it – but there’s no reason to be worried.
Branches from Devon to Berkshire, Suffolk, Newcastle and Surrey experienced a dearth of the crispy goodness on Thursday.
In Plymouth, one employee confirmed the Crownhill KFC had shut while another worker said KFCs ‘all over the city’ had been affected.
Apologies were written on every closed KFC store like the one below:

The sign on the door reads:
We wouldn’t want to open without offering our full menu, but we’ll be back at the fryers as soon as we can!
Apologies for any inconvenience.
Naturally, KFC’s loyal customers wanted their chicken but with the fresh chicken shortage due to a technical fault, KFC rather admirably weren’t willing to sell bad chicken to their fans, saying:
We’re not far away from robots taking over the world, NASA even have a plan for when it happens, but until they do unfortunately computer systems can still go wrong.. which ours did.
We hope to be back up and running before we have to wheel in Will Smith to sort things out, please bear with us.

And now the slightly more technical stuff…
On KFC’s website, a statement read:
We’ve brought a new delivery partner onboard, but they’ve had a couple of teething problems – getting fresh chicken out to 900 restaurants across the country is pretty complex!
We won’t compromise on quality, so no deliveries has meant some of our restaurants are closed and others are operating a limited menu, or shortened hours.
We know this might have inconvenienced some of you over the last few days and disappointed you when you wanted your fried chicken fix – we’re really sorry about that.
Shout out to our restaurant teams who are working flat out to get us back up and running again.
Hope to see you in our restaurants soon.
So essentially a new computer system organising the delivery of fresh chicken to your local KFC didn’t work and rather than the fried chicken connoisseurs giving you, the paying customer, bad chicken, they decided to cut their losses and wait for only the very best fresh and succulent chicken to be delivered, fried and sold to us.
Pretty good if you ask me. God bless KFC.
