Enough to put you off having dippy eggs for life? Probably.
One man in Australia got a lot more than he bargained for when he bought a free range egg from Woolworths, it ended up having the grey remains of a dead baby chicken inside. Grim.
Ani Bhowmilk posted a complaint to their Facebook page after buying the egg at a Surry Hills store in Sydney, Daily Mail reports.
It wasn’t until he cracked open the shell of the egg after boiling that he realised that something really wasn’t right.
FacebookWriting on Facebook, Ani said:
Tried to boil them and look what I found! I had boiled a chick! I know you don’t lay the eggs but at least know what you are serving the customers. This is too much protein for me.
No shit. Understandably, the gruesome image of the slime-covered grey embryo was a bit too much for a lot of Facebook users.
The official Woolworths account eventually responded to the complaint. They said:
We’re very concerned about this, Ani, and take incidents like this very seriously. Please let us know your phone number and state in a Private Message so that we can follow this up with you ASAP.
Can’t imagine him buying eggs from them again any time soon.
