Man Has Proof He Invented Oreo Creme Egg Years Ago

It’s safe to say it’s all kicked off since Cadbury came out with the game-changing Oreo Creme Egg.

Everyone is going mad for it, but it turns out the idea might not be quite as original as previously thought.

Meet Nick Allam. He’s a communications officer from Weston-super-Mare who claims he tweeted the chocolate giant the idea back in 2015 and they have now simply ‘nicked’ the idea.

He created the delicious combo while going through a ‘confectionery experimentation’ phase… as you do.

Chuffed with his culinary creation, the 29-year-old took to Twitter to tweet a picture of the Oreo egg to Cadbury.

They even acknowledged the chocolatey innovation and said they’d past it on to their product team.

But two years later and the Oreo Creme Egg hit supermarket shelves everywhere, without a word of thanks to Nick and not too surprisingly he’s pretty miffed that they ripped off his idea.

He said:

I first saw the Oreo Egg on social media on Thursday I think. I was a little surprised to be honest and then a little disappointed because there was no recognition. I’m going to put it out there and say I did invent it, so yes, Cadbury have stolen my idea.

Nick re-tweeted the original tweet, but is yet to hear anything back from Cadbury.

He isn’t even after any money, but simply wants some sort of recognition for gifting them the awesome idea.

Nick added:

It is a bit like peanut butter and jelly, I came up with the combination but as I don’t own the brands I can’t see that I could profit from it, but it would be nice to get a thank you or a response from Cadbury.

Cadbury launched the Oreo Creme Egg last week.

Only time will tell whether Nick will actually get the credit he deserves. Absolute genius.
