Horrifying footage has emerged of a man threatening staff at a McDonald’s with a knife, before running away with a box full of Monopoly stickers.

The video shows the hooded, masked man walking briskly towards and then behind the counter into the kitchen area of the Hayes, west London branch, opening the dividing barrier to let himself past.

He picks up a box containing promotional McDonald’s stickers and vouchers, and starts to make off with it. All the while he’s holding a knife in his gloved hand.

When an unnamed cashier attempts to intervene and make a grab for the box, he waves the knife at them in a threatening manner before running backwards and then legging it out of the fast food restaurant.

This news follows a similar incident in nearby Ealing – a mere ten miles away – where a man leapt over a McDonald’s counter to snatch a roll of Monopoly vouchers before darting off while his companion laughs.

Footage of the crime was uploaded to social media and ended with the man showing off the stolen vouchers before the camera.

Monopoly vouchers contained a number of potential prizes, ranging from free value meals and Missguided vouchers, to a Mini Cooper and £100,000 in cash. The competition – which began 21 March – ended as of May 1.
