North Korean scientists claim they have created arguably the world’s most sought-after drink – hangover-free alcohol.
According to Mashable, the state-run news outlet the Pyongyang Times claims the ginseng-based Koryo liquor won’t leave you with any trace of a hangover due to a magical new production method.
The report claims that the Koryo is:
Highly appreciated by experts and lovers as it is suave and causes no hangover. It is a product that exudes national flavour.
The suave drink is reported to contain between 30 and 40 per cent alcohol and has been around for years, although throughout that time it has been reserved for the country’s elite.
However, North Korea is now claiming that the producer, Taedonggang Foodstuff Factory, has made several tweaks to the original recipe in order to render the boozy drink hangover-free.
Following years of achy headed research, the factory has allegedly switched its production method and now uses ‘boiled and scorched glutinous rice’ rather than sugar in the process.
Unfortunately for all of us who don’t live in the ‘Glorious Republic’, we’ll never get to sample their ‘national flavour’ as the liquor is only available in North Korea so, tragically, the claim is nearly impossible to verify.
Looks like we’ll have to stick to bacon sandwiches and paracetamol, for now.
