Crack out a fresh pint of milk guys, Oreo are looking for professional taste testers for their cracking cookies.

That’s right, you could actually be paid to sit and eat these tasty treats, and, if you’re thinking there must be a catch, the only other task you’ll have is to give feedback on the products in group sessions.

Sounds pretty sweet, right?

According to the job advert, the company are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  1. A passion for confectionery and taste buds for detection
  2. Honesty and objectivity when it comes to giving an opinion
  3. Eagerness to try new and inventive products
  4. A communicative personality to build great relationships with you panel
  5. Articulate with a firm grasp of the English language

Got to love that job advert lingo… but when it comes down to it, it’s really just tasting and talking.

The company advertising the positions, Mondelez, isn’t just looking for one person to fill this dream role, but THREE Chocolate Tasters (official title), and, for those of you who prefer your chocolate in hot liquid form, an additional Chocolate & Cocoa Beverage Tester.

Don’t worry if you’ve never heard of Mondelez either, they’re only the corporation behind such delicious brands as Oreo,  Toblerone, Milka, Mikado… the list goes on, oh and they bought British chocolate giant Cadbury’s a few years ago when it worked under the name Kraft Foods.

So it’s also worth keeping in mind that as a taste tester, you’ll probably have to try out new recipes for these brands too.  I know, I know, sounds tough, but I’m sure the right person will step up to the challenge.

And if you’re worried about what this dream job might do your health, don’t worry, it’s only part-time.

If you apply (which you definitely should), and make it to interview stage (which you definitely might), you’ll be invited to an assessment day which will involve ‘tasting up to 10 samples’ and working with a group to discuss your findings.

After that it’s another ‘short competency based interview’. Doesn’t sound too bad for such a fulfilling job, does it?

If chocolate’s not your bag but a career in food tasting is, then don’t fear.

Superstore B&M recently put out an advert for a taste tester, that included trying out their new range of fresh food from chicken nuggets to fish fingers, donner meat, French fries and curries.

The discount store said in their job ad:

Looking for a new challenge to tuck into in 2018?

You’ll want to take a bite out of this, as we’re looking for a tasty new individual, who’ll be worth their weight in… food.

B&M is currently one of the fastest growing discount retailers and we’re always looking to expand our range of products. Next month we’ll be launching a brand new fresh and frozen food range in a selection of our stores nationwide.

To help us ensure that the range is the best in the country we’re offering one lucky person the chance to taste test some of our range.
