Vegan Bride Uninvites Meat Eating Guests From Her Wedding

As a lifelong vegetarian, if I ever get married there will be no meat at my wedding, as guests will eat tasty food I enjoy.

I feel that is understandable, but banning people who eat meat from attending a wedding full stop is a whole different kettle of fish.

One bride did exactly that, banning all meat-eaters from attending her wedding, even if they are close family members or friends.

In my opinion, it is her big day so she can do what she wants, and invite whoever she wants, and there is absolutely nothing else others can or should do about it.

However, one person was so shocked when they read about the woman on Facebook, they shared the story on the subreddit r/insanepeoplefacebook.

Reddit user ‘Gelatin_MonKey’ shared a screenshot on the site taken from a Facebook group called ‘Vegan Revolution’.

The screenshot was of a post an anonymous woman shared with the group which outlined her wedding plans.

Branding meat-eaters as ‘murderers’, it read:

When ‘family’ tries to guilt trip you into letting them come to your fully vegan wedding even though they are omnivores.

Just for some context, some family members were told they are not invited to my wedding because we don’t want to host murderers at our wedding, which is supposed to be one of the happiest days of our lives.

She later gave an update adding that her and her partner had been previously ‘consistently attacked just for being vegan’ by family members who are now all ‘buddy, buddy again’ in an effort to get an invite.

‘Gelatin_MonKey’ captioned the image on Reddit:

This lady banned all non-vegans from her wedding, including family and bridal party.

Although it is unclear what reaction the original post received on Facebook, on Reddit it certainly sparked debate.

A fellow vegan criticised the bride writing:

Got married in November and it was completely vegan. Nobody complained. It’s good food. We wanted to celebrate our marriage while remaining true to our lifestyle.

Banning non-vegans is insane and belongs on this sub. I just wanted to clarify the person is insane and not the ideology.

Another Reddit user backed the woman adding:

I’m vegan and have a ton of vegan friends all over the US, and a lot have families that consider all-vegan meals hosted by the vegan to be ‘forcing your views down our throats’, weddings included.

At the end of the day it’s the bride’s big day and she is paying for the guests to attend, so it’s her way or the highway.
