Vegans Kick Off With Restaurant Owner, Shit Escalates Quickly

Just when you thought the war between meat-eaters and vegans was already at an all-time high, a little eatery in Dublin showed just how heated the things can get…

The restaurant owner of The White Moose Cafe, Paul Stenson, had a bit of beef (sorry), with a vegan customer after they were extremely negative about the apparent lack of vegan options at the gaff.

It all started rather friendly with Paul putting up a Facebook post to ask vegans to let them know when they’re coming.

Fair enough, right? Wrong. The comment stirred up an absolute shit storm on social media. Vegans fought back by giving crap reviews of the restaurant without even actually going there. As someone who worked in the industry myself, this is a proper dick move.

Understandably, the boss wasn’t too impressed with the onslaught of bad reviews, so he started a ‘vegan-friendly’ competition…

Fed up with the staggering amount of poor reviews from vegans around the world, the cafe owner flat-out banned vegans from his restaurant and threatened to shoot them at ‘point blank range’. Wow, did that escalate quickly…

Funnily enough, it seems the group of enraged vegans didn’t see the funny side in his post…

Paul declared full-out war on the vegans and started putting some rather blatant signs that he wasn’t a fan of them, like, changing his cover photo on Facebook…

Finally an official ‘apology’ was dished out, although they did have to probably take it with a pinch of salt…

The online battle spilled out into the real world, when vegans started protesting at the cafe, although it seemed protesters were confused about their opening hours…

The saga doesn’t seem to be reaching an end, but what about a tempting, meaty offering to get the neigh sayers on side?

The White Moose Cafe/Facebook

Nope, no fucking chance. The negative reviews didn’t seem to do much harm to the cafe though, and it was in fact becoming a must-visit culinary destination. Maybe a truce was on the cards?

Of course it bloody wasn’t and to make matter worse it seems some of the opposing party took the shooting ‘threats’ a little too seriously…

The White Moose Cafe/Facebook

Oh dear. Fortunately, his assault rifle wasn’t needed after all, as the restaurant was doing better than ever and Paul could only offer thanks to the protesters, although they were still not welcome…

There is no such thing as ‘bad publicity’… apparently.
