Candy floss is one of the funnest treats; mainly because, whatever age you are, it is always exciting to be handed a colourful cloud of sugar on a stick.
It usually takes a good while to consume this rather intimidating bundle of fluff. I, for one, have to break away little pieces at a time to avoid getting it tangled up in my hair.
However, there is one woman on this mysterious planet who can apparently demolish a fleecy mass of floss within the length of a heartbeat.
25-year-old TV anchor An-Qi may look sweet and ladylike, but she has a truly ferocious approach to candy floss devouring; unlike anything we have seen before, or will likely see again…
While hosting TV show I’m the Winner, An-Qi competed against her guest, Zhao Rein in the art of competitive candy floss munching.
Her poor rival didn’t stand a chance against her mechanical jaws. After beaming at the gossamer delight for a moment; she stuffed the whole lot in her mouth in three seconds flat, much like a gigantic rabbit chomping down a lettuce leaf.
Unsuspecting of her uniquely particular set of skills, Zhao Rein continued to nibble amateurishly on his candy-floss while An-Qi was already straightening herself elegantly like it was no big deal.
Watch the deceptively cottony-soft competition for yourself below:

An-Qi uploaded the vid through her Weibo account, boasting:
Whatever game you want to win me? nonexistent
The footage of An-Qi quickly went viral, with the petite presenter’s snacking strength soon becoming the stuff of internet legend, both in China and further afield.
One person marvelled, ‘Eating so fast is not afraid of death’ while another pondered, ‘I think my favorite part of this is after she stuffs it all in her mouth, she takes a demure “who me” pose.’
One person described her as having the ‘demeanour of a shark’ while described her as being cat like.
Another noted:
It’s like this woman had been waiting her whole life for this one moment when should could fulfil her cotton candy eating destiny.
Luckily for anybody else who wants to hone their ‘Inner T-Rex Slurping Up A Goat’, An-Qi has offered some sound advice.
Writing on her Weibo, the piranha princess declared:
If you want to be cotton candy Destroyer successor, I want to say is usually tongue strength training is also essential that.
Hmm. So does An-Qi’s work-out routine involve tying a tiddly widdly dumbell to the tip of her tongue? Does she place a mini treadmill underneath it as she goes about her day?
One thing is for certain: the world has a new, relatable heroine; complete with a sweet tooth and a fierce sense of competition when it comes to food. An-Qi, c’est moi.
How many other hidden heroes are out there, with tongues of steel and throats like Mary Poppins’ overnight bag?
Do you have a friend – or perhaps more likely a fierce-some foe – who could take the mighty An-Qi on?
