The king of sausage rolls, Greggs, are once again proving that they really are bakery legends.

Earlier this year the popular store launched its first ever drive-thru service station in Salford and of course the public loved it.

It was so popular Greggs announced plans to open more drive-thrus across the country.

But now Greggs has outdone itself by launching a delivery service with UberEATS meaning you can now get steak bakes delivered to your door.

We can’t wait to try it out.

The new service was launched in the home of Greggs, Newcastle, on Monday and is only available through the UberEATS app which is easy and free to download.

If you are within a mile of a participating Greggs shop then you are in luck, although it will cost you £2.50 per order, no minimum spend is required.

That is totally worth it though if you are hungover and desperate for a sausage rolls or two.

Although there are no immediate plans to expand this service, if is popular, and we think it will be, Greggs will consider rolling it out to other locations.

The menu available on the app features a selection of favourites including bakes, sausage rolls, sandwiches, sweet treats, breakfast, salads and drinks.

You can even follow the progress of your delivery getting updates on when your yummy grub will arrive.

Mathieu Proust, General Manager of UberEATS, said:

We’re thrilled to be working with Greggs to offer home delivery of their food for the first time in the UK.

With our UberEATS app anyone can order the food they want with the speed and reliability they’ve come to expect from Uber.

Of course Greggs already has its own delivery service, Greggs Delivered, which operates in London, Manchester and Newcastle.

However, this is for bulk office orders only whereas the UberEATS service is designed for hungover humans at home.

Roger Whiteside, Chief Executive at Greggs, added:

When it comes to food-on-the-go, our customers tell us that convenience is key.

We’ve been working hard to take Greggs to where our customers need and want us to be including office parks, industrial estates, retail parks and travel hubs.

More recently, we have also launched our office delivery service (from selected stores) and opened our first Drive Thru.

Adding:

Online ordering and delivery is something that we are often asked about and we are excited to confirm that we have launched a trial of this new concept to customers in our home city of Newcastle upon Tyne.

This latest innovation will enable customers to enjoy our great tasting, good value food wherever they are, offering them the ultimate convenience.

If you have a Greggs addiction like me then your life is now complete.

With drive-thrus springing up across the country, a home delivery service and one for bulk officer orders too, you really can get all the Greggs you want from anywhere.

Maybe one day Greggs might even do its own restaurant. We can only hope and pray!
