Before you thought Big Macs couldn’t get any better, the Grand Big Mac entered into our lives and it is the stuff dreams are made of.
The majestic burger has already proved to be a hit in other parts of the world but now it is finally arriving in the UK and we couldn’t be more excited.
Standing at an impressive 4.5 inches tall, this is the biggest Mac ever made as the delicious description on the McDonalds website reads:
Craving something big? Introducing the double cheesy, extra beefy Grand Big Mac™ for when that Big Mac® craving calls for something more.
Sink into two larger 100% pure beef sandwiched between a sesame seed bun. All dressed with two times the special sauce, crisp lettuce, onions, pickles and two slices of American cheese.
The release of this massive burger means that the notorious Monster Mac is due an upgrade so let us introduce you to the Grand Monster Mac.
Although officially the McDonald’s secret menu doesn’t exist, hardcore fans of the fast food chain restaurant still spend hours coming up with new ideas and imaginative combinations they can order and enjoy.
The Monster Mac is one such item comprising of a whopping eight beef patties sandwiched between a bun with eight slices of cheese being optional.
But why not take it a step further by using Grand Big Macs instead of the normal burgers?
All you have to do is order four Grand Big Macs and pile up all the patties and slices of cheese.
Sandwich it between a bun and pop another half in the middle and your creation is complete!

This Grand Big Mac is being released as part of the 50th birthday celebrations for the iconic Big Mac.
Head of Marketing at McDonald’s UK, Steven Howells, spoke about the celebration in a statement:
As an iconic McDonald’s product, we are proud and excited to be celebrating 50 years of the legendary Big Mac® and for the first time ever in the UK, introducing the two new sizes for a limited time.
We know a lot of our customers will remember the 1974 launch of the Big Mac in the UK and have continued to enjoy the burger and pass the Big Mac® love on since then, it remains our most iconic burger!
The Big Mac is so iconic it even inspired it’s very own challenge which involves eating four large McDonald’s Big Mac meals with milkshakes.
In the appropriately named Big Mac challenge, one person has an hour to consume the four burgers, four large fries and four milkshakes.
To prove the contestant isn’t just a big fraud, they then have to keep the food down for another 30 minutes without being sick.
Sure, it may sound easy but we decided to put it to the test getting one of our intrepid investigative journalists to attempt it.
You can watch his effort here:

As you can see in the video, about 45 minutes in, Kieron taps out and is sick straight into a conveniently placed bag.
However, if you think you can eat all that food, and hold it down for 30 minutes, then you’d be in with the chance of winning £100 from McDonald’s.
Good luck!
