It might be August, but 2016 is far from over. The festive period has yet to rear its tinseled head, and we can expect a bunch more awesome games before it’s time to drunkenly see in 2017.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the biggest and best games that are making their way to you throughout the remainder of 2016.
Attack on Titan – August 30
If you’re a fan of taking down giant flesh eating behemoths with complicated aerial equipment (and who isn’t?) then Attack on Titan is for you. It comes to Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Vita, and PC August 30.
Shiny – August 31
Hungry for Metroidesque 2.5D platforming fun? Shiny should scratch that particular itch when it comes to Xbox One and PC August 31.
BioShock: The Collection – September 13
What really needs saying about this? If you’ve never played a BioShock game, you’re missing out. If you have, you know they’re good enough to play again. The remastered collection hits Xbox One, PS4 and PC on September 13.
Batman: The Telltale Series – September 13
If you like Batman, and you’re a fan of Telltale’s impeccable style of videogame storytelling, you’ll enjoy this. Incidentally, you can find our review of the first episode here. Expect it on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, and PS3 September 13.
Dead Rising Remastered – September 13/ 27
Another remaster due September 13 – Dead Rising Remastered will fulfil all your zombie slaying needs on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
On a similar note, Dead Rising 2 remastered comes September 27.
NHL 17/NBA 2K17/FIFA 17 – September 13/ 20/ 27
Also September 13 (clearly a big day), NHL 17 comes to PS4 and Xbox One for all you sports fans. If Hockey isn’t your jam, you’ll be able to enjoy NBA 2K17 on September 20, or FIFA 17 on September 27.
ReCore – September 13
Combine Metroid Prime and Mega Man, and the result would probably be similar to the excellent looking ReCore. It comes to Xbox One and PC September 13.
Forza Horizon 3 – September 27
You into racing? I don’t really care if you are or not – but instead of boring everyone with car talk, you can sit in silence and play Forza Horizon 3 on Xbox One or PC come September 27.
XCOM 2 (console) – September 27
The previously PC exclusive XCOM 2 will be making its way to Xbox One and PS4 on September 27, and I strongly urge any and all gamers to check it out.
Mafia III – October 7
After an incredibly long (but very stylish) marketing campaign, Mafia III will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 7.
Paper Mario Color Splash – October 7
What will probably be the last big Wii U game before the NX (bar Zelda), Paper Mario Color Splash is one of the few reasons this year Wii U owners have a reason to turn the console on when it launches October 7.
Rise of The Tomb Raider – October 11
Lara finally comes home when Rise of the Tomb Raider hits PlayStation 4 on October 11. We can expect all kinds of cool bonus content, too.
Gears of War 4 – October 11
Gears of War 4 will be smashing its way onto Xbox One and PC October 11. Let’s hope it’s as gruesome and beautiful as the trailers made out.
Battlefield 1 – October 21
I dunno if you’ve heard of this little indie title from EA, but Battlefield 1 comes to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 21.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VI – October 21
Remember to book a week off around October 21, because Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is coming to PC.
The Last Guardian – October 25
Fucking hell, The Last Guardian is actually happening. Provided we don’t scare it off, it should come to PS4 on October 25.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition – October 28
You know what Skyrim is. You’re either gonna pick this up or completely hate that it exists. Either way, it’s coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 28.
Titanfall 2 – October 28
A massively anticipated sequel, Titanfall 2 looks to balance the original’s excellent multiplayer with an all new (and very different) solo campaign. We’ll find out if it works when it comes to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 28.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – November 4
Don’t hate me, but Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 4. Hopefully it’s better than people are expecting.
Dishonored 2 – November 11
The sequel to Bethesda and Arkane Studio’s awesome first person stealth adventure sneaks onto PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 11.
Gran Turismo Sport – November 15
Do more racing and stuff with the PS4-exclusive Gran Turismo Sport when it lands November 15.
Pokemon Sun/Moon – November 18
Try and catch ’em all (again) when Pokemon Sun/Moon come to Nintendo 3DS November 18 – it’ll be worth it for some of the fucked up new Pokemon alone.
Watch Dogs 2 – November 18
The first Watch Dogs was okay, but kind of an over-hyped letdown. Hopefully the sequel addresses the issues of its predecessor – expect it on PS4, Xbox One, and PC November 18.
Final Fantasy 15 – November 29
After a bit of a delay, the long gestating Final Fantasy 15 will be with us on November 29 for PS4 and Xbox One – can it live up the hype?
Dead Rising 4 – December 6
Tis the season to slay zombies when the latest entry in the OTT Dead Rising franchise hits Xbox One and PC on December 6.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole – December 6
And if slaying zombies doesn’t really scream ‘Christmas’ to you, then spend some time with the South Park gang on December 6, when The Fractured But Whole makes an entrance for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
As you can see, 2016 still has some aces up its sleeve. With the likes if Battlefield 1 and The Last Guardian joining games like Dark Souls 3 and Uncharted 4, I think it’s safe to say we’ll be looking back on 2016 as one hell of a year for gaming.
