Well, this is a nice surprise. Publisher Bandai Namco has just announced a brand spankin’ new Dragon Ball Z action RPG, and it’s set to launch before the end of 2019.

This out of the blue announcement came from Bandai’s official Twitter account, with more information (hopefully a trailer) to come during the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals on January 26.

The last Dragon Ball RPG was 2016’s fairly average Fusions, which launched on the Nintendo 3DS. We don’t have any information on what platforms this new RPG will come to, so whether it’s mobile, handheld, or home console is anyone’s guess at this point.

The tweet also mentions that “Warrior from Universe 11” will be joining the FighterZ roster, with the assumption being that it’s Pride Troopers member Jiren.

In other Dragon Ball Z news, the upcoming Jump Force fighting game will have its fair share of characters from the beloved anime, with Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, Piccolo, Trunks, and Cell all confirmed to join the fray.
