A Mysterious Symbol Has Been Found In Several Unrelated Games

A series of eight, seemingly unconnected videogames have all been found to contain a mysterious symbol, with each one leading to part of an interconnecting puzzle. What the hell is going on?

The internet has been hard at work trying to figure out what this all means, with Reddit believing it to be an Alternate Reality Game (ARG).

If you didn’t know, an ARG is a transmedia challenge set up to encourage players to work together and communicate to solve an overarching puzzle. In this case, we have no idea what the end result will be… yet. Take a peek at what players have put together so far below.

The eye symbol has been found in a series of indie games; Crypt of the NecroDancer, Magic Circle, Mini Metro, Kingdom of Loathing, Legend of Dungeon, Neon Struct, Flickers, and Mos Speedrun 2.

The puzzle pieces started to emerge as far back as 2014, but have only recently begun to get put together. It should also be noted that in the case of Kingdom of Loathing, players have managed to locate the eye symbol that indicates the presence of a puzzle piece, but have yet to track down the piece itself.

Ongoing discoveries are being shared on this Reddit page, so if you fancy doing a bit of videogame based detective work, dive in and do your bit. Just let us know when you know the answer, yeah? We’re extremely curious on this end.
