Following the success of last year’s release, a new Crash Bandicoot game is being released next year.
Activision’s Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which was released in 2017, was sold out for ages – and I would know, I tried to buy it for ages before I got my hands on a copy.
The N. Sane Trilogy, was a collection of the first three tiles, Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back, and Warped.
According to to spring edition of licensing trade publication Licensing Source Book Europe, Activision will be releasing more Crash Bandicoot goodness.
Looking ahead, Crash Bandicoot is hailed as the one to watch.
Max Arguile, Licensing Manager of GB Eye, said:
Activision have a five-year plan for this and GB eye is delighted to be fully on board for all products.
He also suggested:
– Activision is planning a Switch and PC release for the N.Sane trilogy (separate from this, an Xbox release has been rumoured for a while after a period of PS4 exclusivity).
– Activision has plans for a new Crash game in 2019.
– Activision may be restarting the series as a whole with new titles through 2022.
Alas nothing is yet official, but it would be excellent if true.
My body is definitely ready for some more Crash Bandicoot, I NEED IT! ? pic.twitter.com/PHjEmZ07fb

The N. Sane Trilogy was a smash hit on PlayStation 4, according to Activision, who also said it was the ‘number one top selling remastered collection in PS4 history’. Impressive.

Rumours of a Spyro the Dragon return to PS4 have been doing the rounds a while now, especially after the dragon appeared on some Sony marketing materials.
And I would not object to this being done, what a game that was too!
According to PSU, there’s a Spyro ‘hint’ in the Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped menu screen.
Spotted by a YouTuber by the name of ‘ThornsOfSerenity’, the hint is shown when you press ‘Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Square’ while hovering over the menu screen.
Here’s the video:
For those who are unaware of what that means, this is the ‘code’ you had to input in the original Crash Bandicoot game in order to gain access to a special demo of Spyro the Dragon.
PSU continues:
Of course, bar making the cursor disappear, the code doesn’t do anything yet, but it’s evident that it’s been programmed into the game intentionally.
And then they just need to re-release Crash Team Racing, who agrees?
