Activision have promised in a recent blog post that 2016 will be an exciting year for Call of Duty, and confirmed that we’ll be getting our first peek at the next game in the franchise at this year’s E3.
The publisher won’t be present at the Electronic Entertainment Expo themselves, so they’re working with Sony to showcase the anticipated gameplay footage. I bet there’ll be guns. Probably some shooting too.
Scott Lowe, Communications Manager at Activision wrote:
In June, we’re going to be at E3 showcasing gameplay from Infinity Ward’s ambitious new game. We’re looking forward to sharing exciting new details about the next great Call of Duty game in partnership with our friends at PlayStation. We’re proud to be participating in this premier videogame event, but won’t have an Activision booth on the show floor.
Lowe confirmed that Activison will also be hosting the Call of Duty Championship this Autumn, concluding the first season of the Call of Duty World League alongside a community event that aims to gives fans insight into the world of the franchise.

To close, Lowe reiterated that it’s gonna be a big year for Call of Duty, and mysteriously remarked that we might find Activison in some other, “unexpected” places as well. Check under your bed tonight before you go to sleep, okay?
