Another New Marvel Game Is In The Works

A brand new game set in the Marvel universe is on the way from an indie studio set up by former Hearthstone director Ben Brode and several of his coworkers.

Brode left Blizzard back in 2018 to start up a new studio now known as Second Dinner, and the team have recently announced their very first title will be a Marvel game.

Second Dinner hasn’t shared any details on their new project yet, so we have no idea if it will focus on one particular Marvel hero/villain, or a group like The Avengers, but we do know the studio has been working on it for about six months already, and a working prototype exists.

The team consists of developers who worked on games like Hearthstone: Heroes Of Warcraft, Halo 2, and Diablo III, so they’ve certainly got the chops to create something very interesting indeed.

2018 saw the release of the excellent Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4, which has hopefully kickstarted a golden age of Marvel games. In the next few years, we can look forward to an Avengers game from Square Enix, a sequel to Insominiac’s Spider-Man game (I assume/hope), and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order for Nintendo Switch.

Between all these games, excellent films like Into The Spider-Verse and Infinity War, and big releases like Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame still to come, it’s a great time to be a Marvel fan.

DC is also good by the way, before I’m accused of being in the pay of Disney. Aquaman was pretty cool.
