Apex Legends Season 2 Leak Reveals Big Map Changes EA

Apex Legends Season 2 is scheduled to kick off next Tuesday (July 2), but it looks like two trailers for the new season have now leaked ahead of the official reveal, which was set for 6pm today.

The new videos give us pretty much all the details we could want to know regarding all the upcoming changes that are set to come to the popular battle royale, and the most notable upheaval seems to be that King’s Canyon is getting a big old makeover.

Developer Respawn had been hinting that map changes would be coming of course. Just last week, a horde of flyers started to appear in the skies above the map, while the giant Leviathan creatures who patrol the waters surrounding the map have been edging ever closer to land.

Sure enough, it looks like the Leviathans and the Flyers are about to descend on King’s Canyon and cause all kinds of chaos. The first trailer shows a full scale invasion, while the second trailer dives into exactly how and why these rambunctious reptiles decided to cause some mayhem.

The trailers, which you can find here, tell us that an EMP attack on Repulsor has caused the tower previously keeping the animals out to collapse, paving the way for some dinosaur themed destruction. As if that wasn’t enough, a mystery character has been spotted “along the ridgeline of Cascades”, with many fans speculating that this shady chap is the next playable legend – the previously leaked character Crypto.

The upshot of the beast attack means that we’ll have to consider our moves very carefully, as it looks the giant Leviathans will be able to interact with players in deeply unpleasant ways (mostly by stomping on us, based on the trailer).

Meanwhile, Flyers are displayed in crates, which suggests that you might be able to use them against other players? It’s not entirely clear how the Leviathans and Flyers will factor into gameplay, but it looks like they absolutely will be integral to Season 2.

Finally, the trailer confirmed a few things we already knew about, including the new Legend Wattson, the new L-Star weapon, and the upcoming Ranked mode. It looks like Season 2 of Apex Legends is bringing some big changes then, and I’m excited to dive in.
