Naturally, in an age where cross platform play is not only possible, but regularly achieved, fans have been wondering if/when they’ll be able to play Apex Legends with mates across the console void.

Luckily, it looks like that sweet, sweet crossplay will soon be coming to Apex Legends, according to Respawn. Lead producer Drew McCoy told Eurogamer that it’s on the cards in a recent interview.

McCoy explained that Respawn”plans to allow players to play with their friends on other platforms” although wouldn’t get much more specific than that. As such, when exactly this feature arrives, and between what systems it’ll be possible is currently anyone’s guess.

He also revealed that cross-progress and cross-purchases won’t be possible in Apex Legends ever, because the game was being built before crossplay became such a hot thing to be doing.

As for seeing the battle royale hit mobile devices and Nintendo Switch? Well, McCoy said there’s nothing they can announce just yet, so make of that what you will.

In other Apex Legends news, a dataminer recently uncovered the possible existence of Solos and Duos modes for the game. Again, there’s no solid release window for these modes, but it’s good to know Respawn is actively working on making Apex Legends the best battle royale it can be,
