Battlefield 4 And Hardline Getting Big Changes This Summer

DICE will be bringing an overhauled user interface (UI) to Battlefield 4 this Summer, in a new bid to create a more cohesive experience with Battlefield 1

An email sent to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players, suggests that the UI will be exclusive to those versions of the game, and will aim to unify Battlfield 4, Hardline and Battlefield 1.

DICE says the new user interface will ‘provide a more intuitive and centralized experience for all your Battlefield games’. Check out the email below.

As you can see, it looks like Hardline will also be getting the new UI, and the emphasis on unification will (hopefully) allow us to swap between Battlefield games with ease.

Another intriguing addition is the recommendation engine, which will presumably offer up suggestions for modes and games based on what you and your friends usually get up to.

It’s definitely a neat idea, and it’s cool to see that DICE will continue to support multiplayer across Battlefield 4 and Hardline when comes out, even if it is just for PS4 and Xbox One – although considering Battlefield 1 won’t be coming to PS3 or 360, the new UI would be something of a waste of time.

Meanwhile, Battlefield 1 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 21, with a beta expected to kick off sometime in late August/early September.
