PlayStation 4 owners have been feeling a little shortchanged by Bethesda of late.
Not long ago, we learned that neither Fallout 4, nor the Skyrim remaster would receive the mod support that Xbox One and PC gamers have been enjoying for months.
However, Bethesda confirmed multiple times that it wasn’t giving up and planned to find an alternative – true to their word, that’s exactly what they’ve done.
Bethesda shared the good news in a statement on their site, revealing that they’d reached an agreement with Sony after butting heads on the issue for so long.
Unfortunately, the mods will work in limited capacity compared to other versions, as Bethesda explains:
We and Sony have worked hard to make this possible. Mods on PlayStation 4 will allow you to modify and create your own content by using our Creation Kit available here. You will not be able to upload external assets with your PlayStation 4 mods, but you will be able to use any assets that come with the game, as most mods do.
Furthermore, we’ll still have a bit of wait to play Fallout 4 mods, as the publisher confirmed that it’s focusing its attention on getting the system running smoothly for Skyrim – which launches October 28 – first.
In addition, Bethesda announced that both games will take advantage of the PS4 Pro’s 4K capabilities, and will look a little something like this…
Is it okay to be slightly aroused by a digital forest? Probably not, but that’s what’s happening here and I’m just gonna roll with it.
