Bungie Details Destiny Plans After Rise Of Iron

The next big thing for Destiny is the massive Rise of Iron expansion, but fans might well be wondering what’s coming to Bungie’s online FPS/RPG hybrid after that.

You won’t be surprised to learn that Bungie has no intentions of slowing down following September’s expansion, and the developer recently revealed to Game Informer a taste of what players can expect.

Almost immediately after Rise of Iron, the Festival of the Lost Halloween event will be making its return in October, with a few new items and surprises to look forward to.

December will mark the return of the Sparrow Racing League, complete with Rise of Iron themed tracks, although Bungie is keen to make this event bigger than ever before.

Live team director Jerry Hook said:

When we talk about SRL coming back, it’ll probably be wrapped in a different style, not just focused around SRL. Because some of the stuff that we learned from our players around the Sparrow Racing League is that some people didn’t like racing. So, can you do something with the event that helps support those players a little bit differently? Absolutely.

That’s everything confirmed for now – as for a full blooded sequel, publisher Activision still intends to have Destiny 2 released by the end of 2017so expect Rise of Iron to be the last major expansion.
