Call of Duty 4 Dev Reveals Advice To Activision Over Remake

By :

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare deserves its place among the pantheon of greatest games of all time, so the fans were understandably pleased when a remaster was announced alongside the sci-fi themed Infinite Warfare.

Since there are so many memories around the iconic 2007 shooter, it’s not surprising that one of the developers behind the original game has revealed he told the team working on the remaster not to “fuck it up”.

Infinity Ward co-founder Vince Zampella joked in an interview with Eurogamer:

I told them–don’t fuck it up. That’s my on the record response. I rang them up and said, honestly, don’t fuck it up. It’s a huge part of people’s gaming memories.

Zampella founded Infinity Ward with Jason West in the early 00s. They were actually fired by Activision in 2010, though the pair went on to create Titanfall studio Respawn.

To this day, the influence of Modern Warfare is still felt in FPS games – many fans still consider it to be the absolute peak of the Call of Duty franchise.

Modern Warfare Remastered is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, though the only way to get it at the moment is to pick up a premium version of Infinite Warfare, which costs around £70.

Infinite Warfare is being developed by Infinity Ward who, of course, developed the original Modern Warfare. Activision subsidiary Raven Software is working on the remaster – hopefully they don’t “fuck it up”.

The remaster includes the original game’s excellent campaign in full, and upgraded visuals. Multiplayer is also included, but there are only going to be 10 maps.

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered will launch November 4, 2016.
