Hold onto your butts, Modern Warfare fans, because Infinity Ward are dropping some huge hints about the game, including that we might be teaming up with a few old comrades in the latest release.

The astute among you will already know that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be taking the series back to its roots by essentially resetting the storyline from the previous three games.

We also already know that Captain Price, one of the series’ main protagonists, will be returning to presumably lead the world from the brink of oblivion by letting everybody grip onto his magnificent facial hair before flying off into the sunset.

But little else has been spoken about who else we might be seeing return alongside the gruff mustachioed special forces bloke. In the reveal trailer for the game, Price grumbles that he’ll be joined by “a few old comrades” but is very coy about elaborating on who they may be.

We recently got the chance to sit down with Taylor Kurosaki – the Studio Narrative Director over at Infinity Ward – who dropped some serious hint-bombs that other favourite characters like Soap and Ghost might also get a shot at redemption.

You can check out our full interview with Kurosaki below, but pay special attention to what he says around the 1 minute mark.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Developer Interview

"Yes, Captain Price is back… he's not the only one""Everyone gets a chance to be reset in our universe"We spoke to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare devs at E3 and do those quotes mean what I hope they mean?? 🤞🤞

When asked if we’d be seeing any other members of the Modern Warfare team returning, he said:

So yes, Captain Price is back, as are some other returning characters that we’re not gonna spoil just yet. But as you saw at the end of the trailer he’s asked ‘who’s your team?’ and Price says ‘some old comrades’ so that should be a hint to our fans that he’s not the only one. This is a total re-imagining, so we are not beholden to any of the specific story events of that previous series so that yes, everyone gets a chance to be reset so to speak in our universe.

Kurosaki goes on to say that the character of Price and his motives within the world will remain largely unchanged. That is to say, he’ll likely be much the same character as we’re used to, but he will be facing new situations.

Now I don’t know about you, but that screams to me that fan favourites like Soap MacTavish and Simon “Ghost” Riley might get a chance to rise from their slumber and kick ass once again. Personally, I’m hoping that Gaz will make a comeback too.

He was a good chap, Gaz. Deserved better. Anywho, we’ll know more when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases on October 25, 2019, if not before
