Last-gen devs Beenox and Mercenary Technology are aiming at 30 frames per second for the shooter, claiming it’s down to stability as the old consoles struggle to cope with all the pew pew in the game. COD is well known as a franchise for churning out 60fps shooters like it ain’t no thing, with Advanced Warfare and Ghosts both hitting it on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Speaking to Develop, Beenox creative director Thomas Wilson spoke about the struggle to hit the big 60:

I’d say that we tried to hit that target [60fps]. It becomes harder when you’re working on current gen platforms. We’re basically looking more at something like 30fps. But still, the experience is very enjoyable, otherwise it’s not Call of Duty.

Activision have also recently announced that the last-gen ports of Black Ops 3 would not feature any of its single-player campaign due to technical limitations. This means that PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will only carry the game’s multiplayer and zombies modes.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will release on November 6 across all platforms.
