CS:GO Player Banned For 1000 Years For Dark Reason

A CS:GO player has been banned for 1000 years by third-party tournament service ESEA,  following the alleged harassment of a minor. 

Reece “bloominator” Bloom, has had his ESEA account blocked until June 6, in 3016 – that’s a hefty 365,000 days, or 8, 760, 000 hours.

The official reason given (as you can see below) is ‘Malicious Activity’, although the specifics involve a number of chat logs and photos between bloom and an alleged 15 year old girl.

The chat logs can still be found online (for now), and show Bloom saying things such as ‘there’s just something about being able to influence young minds’, and ‘I just don’t care that I’m a paedophile’.

Bloom was most recently a member of Armor eSports, but also served time with the now-disbanded ESEA Invite team Exertus, effectively making him the highest profile player in North America to be banned and shunned from the community for his behaviour beyond CS:GO.

Bloom posted an apology on Twitter, though his account has since been deleted – it was cached by Google.

He said:

No excuses, obviously incredibly stupid of me to do what I did. But please keep the hate on me, don’t give crap to to any of my friends or [organisations] I’ve associated with. I hope some people can forgive me, but I understand if not.

Kotaku Australia have since reached out to ESEA for word on the ban. While the organisation wouldn’t comment on specifics, they did note that the ban was down to Bloom’s ‘unacceptable’ interactions with another member of the community.

Let’s hope he’s learned his lesson by 3016.
