Remember how they adapted Dead Rising, the great series of zombie slaying videogames, into Dead Rising: Watchtower last year?
No, neither can I. Ah well, apparently a sequel is coming.
Dead Rising: Endgame was announced by the streaming service Crackle at an industry presentation. It’s coming on June 20, and we also got our first look at the mighty team of zombie killers starring in the new flick – drink them in.
Jesse Metcalfe as reporter Chase Carter with co-stars Patrick Sabongui as “a skilled zombie killer and video game aficionado,” Marie Avgeropoulos as “a skilled computer hacker,” and Ian Tracey as Hancock. Presumably there was a sale at the Generic Action Film Character Store.
Other actors set to appear in this epic include none other than Billy Zane, of Titanic fame (which is to say that he was in Titanic, not that his level of fame is titanic, or he probably wouldn’t be in this).
Here’s the plot synopsis:
Dead Rising: Endgame drops us into the zombie-infested quarantined zone of East Mission City where investigative reporter Chase Carter must stop a secret government conspiracy which, though seemingly aimed at ending the country’s zombie epidemic, will also kill millions of innocent civilians.
Sounds like there are some thorny moral choices ahead in Endgame. Contiuum director Pat Williams takes the helm, while Terminator Salvation‘s Michael Ferris and Mortal Kombat: Legacy’s Tim Carter are onboard as writers.
