Take this with the usual grain of salt, but a number of leaked images have come to light that have potentially given us an early look at Destiny 2.
The first full sequel to Bungie’s hit online FPS/RPG hybrid is probably still a ways off (the Rise of Iron expansion isn’t even out yet), but these mysterious images are enough to get us excited.
The images (which you can see above and below) come courtesy ofthis Reddit thread. It transpires that Aziz Dosmetov is an artist who worked on the art for Destiny’s Taken King expansion.
Dosmetov recently posted the images in question on Behance, and described them as being from Destiny 2.
Whats interesting is that a number of the images look a lot like frames for an upcoming trailer – check out the ones below to see what I mean.
If this really is Destiny related, it certainly looks like a change of pace from the gun oriented approach of the first game.
Many of the images seem to feature melee tools such as shields, swords, and what looks like a spear – could Destiny’s first full sequel be looking to set itself well apart from its predecessor?
Again, this should all be taken with a grain (or two) of salt until Bungie confirms or denies anything themselves. In the meantime, we can look forward to the Rise of Iron expansion, which comes to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 20.
