Development on Destiny 3 has started in a big way, and the game will focus more on RPG elements than the previous two games, according to new reports from a reliable leaker on Reddit.
Known Destiny leaker AnonTheNine has been sharing the news on Reddit, claiming that Destiny 3 will be helmed by Bungie game director Chris Barrett, and that Destiny 2 director Luke Smith will still play “a big role.”
AnonTheNine has suggested that Europa – one of the moons of Jupiter – will feature in a big way in the new game. Whether that’s as the game’s hub world or something else entirely remains to be seen.
Recently, Reddit user AntimatterAccord posted about Bungie’s stance on not attaching clear percentages to the effects of armour and weapons in Destiny 2. AnonTheNine joined the discussion to suggest that Destiny 3 will address this problem, and really work to create more of an RPG feel to please the diehard fans.
They explained:
D2 vanilla was their idea from [the] beginning. The ‘reboot’ didn’t change that, the game was born to be for casuals. If D3 will really have the idea they want to implement, trust me, a lot of Guardians who play two hours per week will abandon the game. They are going balls out with the RPG stuff.
Our fearless leaker also teased that the game will be more “hardcore” than the recent Forsaken expansion, and that there’ll be open world PvP areas, as well as Guardian powers fuelled by Darkness, rather than Traveller’s Light.
Take all of this info with a pinch of salt, of course – but remember that AnonTheNine has successfully predicted Destiny related news before, including the new subclasses and areas in Destiny 2’s Forsaken DLC.
