Destiny’s Next Expansion Leaked, Sequel Getting ‘Rebooted’

By :

The next expansion for Destiny is called Rise of Iron, according to a leak from Reddit that was then verified by Kotaku.

Kotaku spoke to two sources close to developer Bungie, who vouched for the authenticity of the leaked poster, which you can see below.

Pretty, no? Apparently, Rise of Iron will feature a new raid, which is said to focus on the Fallen, and will be larger than the two year-one DLC packs.

Rise Of Iron’s new raid is loosely based on the raid that was cut from last year’s House of Wolves DLC, according to Kotaku’s sources. Bungie had planned to release the expansion in April, but it was (obviously) delayed .

Activision haven’t confirmed anything regarding Rise of Iron, but they have previously hinted that a “large new” expansion was on the way, suggesting we’re looking at something similar in size to The Taken King rather than smaller DLC like House of Wolves.

The report states that Rise of Iron will be officially announced at E3 in June, with a September release date.

Meanwhile, Kotaku have also heard that the full blooded sequel Destiny 2 has undergone a “reboot” of sorts. Taken King director Luke Smith has apparently taken the project over after a staff reorganisation at Bungie.

All Activision have said on the subject of Destiny 2 is that it’s a full game sequel due out 2017. Till then, I look forward to getting my hands on the next expansion.
