Dragon Age 4 was finally officially announced by BioWare during the 2018 Game Awards, and while it’ll probably be a while before we see anything concrete from the game, little details are starting to trickle down to us.

BioWare Edmonton has announced a string of new jobs listings for the upcoming Dragon Age, with one post in particular heavily implying that the new game will feature multiplayer of some sort.

The post reveals that BioWare is looking for someone to join the team as “the most senior engineering lead on the game team and a key member of the Dragon Age franchise leadership.”

The successful candidate needs to have experience in developing multiplayer games, and will need to “build and mentor the engineering team, build and execute the game technology plan, and define and direct the development process.”

While we’re not sure just how crucial multiplayer will be to this new Dragon Age, it is worth noting that Inquisition, the last game in the series, featured a mode that you could enjoy with friends.

Inquisition’s multiplayer was completely separate from the main game’s campaign however, and simply saw you and up to three chums exploring dungeons together, slaying enemies, and finding treasure.

There’s a chance BioWare could simply be working to adapt Inquisition’s multiplayer concept further while keeping it separate from the main game, but they could also be looking into integrating multiplayer into the new game’s campaign, which would be a first for the franchise.

We don’t have a release date for the new Dragon Age yet, but it’ll likely be a while yet. Executive producer Mark Darrah did confirm that the game has been in development for a while though, and that “core” Dragon Age veterans are working on the title.
