Facebook have dropped a list of the 10 most talked about games on the social media site, and the results are scarcely surprising.
It’s been a big old year for video games, with both PC and console owners spoilt for choice for things to play. With Facebook being as big as it is, a good portion of the chatter about video games comes through there, making them able to build a pretty comprehensive list of what people are talking about. Here’s the top 10 most talked about new games on Facebook, as revealed in their Year In Review:
- FIFA 15
- Mortal Kombat X
- Fallout Shelter/ Fallout 4
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
- Dying Light
- Star Wars: Battlefront
- Pac-Man 256
- Halo 5: Guardians
Facebook said in a statement:
What we’ve learned in that time is that there is no one golden approach to choosing the ‘best’ games. Some games have strong retention, but don’t grow quickly. Some games grow exponentially in a matter of months–but are forgotten within a year. Older games have stronger engagement than younger games; newer games launch across mobile and Facebook.com simultaneously, creating shifts in player engagement.
Alongside the 10 most talked about games of the year, Facebook have also shared their very own Gaming Awards as revealed by Gamespot – featuring a pretty comprehensive list of mostly mobile games from the year. These are the games that came up trumps.
