Fallout 3 Remaster Teased For 2019 Release

A few days ago, speculation began that a Fallout game could be on the way. A countdown video in the franchise’s retro style appeared on Amazon for a mysterious Bethesda game.

The Amazon placeholder was first discovered by Twitter user Wario64, and seems to be for an unnamed Bethesda game that’s destined for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The title seems to have a standard, deluxe, and collector’s edition all set for December 31 this year.

These placeholders have since been taken down, and the only thing to suggest it could possibly be something Fallout related was the countdown timer and the fact it seemed to be for a Bethesda game.

It’s unlikely to be a brand new Fallout game, given Fallout 76 only launched in November 2018 – but the speculation seems to be that it could well be a remaster of Fallout 3, New Vegas, or a package combining the two titles.

While that’s not really much to go on to truly believe that we might be getting a Fallout 3 remaster, one other intriguing detail has been picked up on over on Twitter.

In the aforementioned countdown video (which you can see above), when the timer gets down to 3, a tiny L appears in the bottom left corner of the screen. Could this be a hint regarding Fallout 3, or simply a coincidence?

If I’m being brutally honest, it does make sense that if such a remaster was ever in the works, Bethesda would want to get it out the door a little quicker now to wash away the deluge of bad press that came with the release of Fallout 76.

After all, what could help people move on from the worst Fallout better than a remaster of one of – if not the best – Fallouts?

If Bethesda is really planning to show off a remastered Fallout 3 and/or New Vegas, I’d imagine that we’ll see something concrete around E3 in June.
