A new Fallout game could be on the way, as a countdown video in the franchise’s iconic vintage style has been spotted on Amazon for a mysterious Bethesda game.
The Amazon placeholder was first discovered by Twitter user Wario64, and seems to be for an unnamed Bethesda game that’s destined for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Curiously, this mystery title seems to have three different versions (Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition), all with a release date of December 31 this year.
These placeholders have since been taken down, and the only thing to suggest it could possibly be something Fallout related was the countdown timer and the fact it was Bethesda game.
It’s unlikely to be a brand new Fallout game, given Fallout 76 only launched in November 2018, but the speculation seems to be that it could well be a remaster of Fallout 3, New Vegas, or a package combining the two titles.
However, I should point out that this is merely speculation at this point, with very little beyond the countdown video to suggest that something Fallout flavored could be on the way.
There’s every chance that Bethesda realised these placeholders made it look far too much like a Fallout game and, being aware they have no Fallout to show, decided to pull the placeholders to avoid speculation.
If we are living in a world of hopes and dreams though, and Bethesda is gearing up to show off something new in its post apocalyptic series, E3 2019 seems like the most likely venue for a grand unveiling.
