The new stadiums will include: Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Borussia-Park, Olympique de Marseille’s Stade Vélodrome and perhaps most importantly, Portsmouth’s Fratton Park. Portsmouth’s Fratton Park is an interesting choice to add in, and EA explain why it was included in the line-up:

Simon Humber, Creative Director of the FIFA series, passed away earlier this year after a fight with cancer. Simon was a huge fan of Portsmouth FC and in tribute to him the FIFA team have included Fratton Park stadium in FIFA 16.

Working with EA Canada to produce the 117 year old stadium, it  commemorates the man described as “the daddy of Ultimate Team”. Simon had worked as Creative Director on many FIFA titles and was well known and liked among Pompey fans and the FIFA community, where he would often respond to emails and monitor forums.

The Fratton Park stadium has a small wreath of flowers set next to one of the goals as a tribute to Simon, mirroring the incredible gesture Portsmouth did in May.
