The latest Kratos adventure managed to grab a staggering nine awards out of 23 categories, including Game Design, Story, Original Music Composition, and the coveted Game Of The Year gong.

Last year The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the hot game of the show, and that only took home four awards. It’s safe to say people enjoyed God of War then.

The only other game to take home multiple awards last night was the (bloody excellent) indie platformer Celeste. That deservedly nabbed Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game and Action Game of the Year.
