There’s a devoted group of Grand Theft Auto V fans who continue to work on cracking the biggest unsolved mystery in the two-and-a-half year old game – and they’ve finally found a new clue.
For those who aren’t aware, the Mount Chiliad mystery is an insanely involved and convoluted set of cryptic clues and vague symbols throughout GTA, all based on a peculiar wall marking (below).
Certain players believe that all these clues connect somehow, but no one is really sure what (if anything) solving the mystery might lead to.
Whatever the case, the hunt has gained steam since GTA V was released on next gen consoles, along with some intriguing changes that further fanned the flame of conspiracy.
As it turns out, one player has recently found one of the markings (an X symbol) from the mural out in GTA’s open world, and they’re hoping this puts the theorists one step closer to some kind of answer.
YouTuber WhizL has put together a video explaining how this X symbol and other pieces from the mural can be found in the open world at certain times, and how this might all connect.
Will the hunt eventually lead to a jetpack? Will this new discovery aid the process? Will the conspiracy theorists be able to sleep soundly until they’ve cracked it? I honestly don’t know.
Maybe, just maybe, someone at Rockstar is sat at home watching the above video and pissing themselves laughing as they tell their kid/partner/pet all about how they threw some fake conspiracy shit into Grand Theft Auto V – just so they could watch the world burn.
