If you’re still rocking the Playstation 3 like it’s 2007 then rejoice, because the absolute classic that is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas just became available to buy on Sony’s last-gen console.
You can now purchase San Andreas through the Playstation store on the PS3 for £10.99/ $14.99, but it’s not the direct PS2 port many would expect – it seems it’s a port from the Xbox 360 version of the game, which itself was a mobile port. Portception.
The thinking behind this being an 360 port, is down to the achievements directly mirroring those of Microsoft’s console – the PS2 classic version was de-listed from the North American Playstation store some time ago.
The Xbox 360 port was widely criticised for performing horribly and looking hideous under 720p , so it’s a strange choice for Sony.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is also currently available on iOS, Android and Windows PC.
