Legendary director Guillermo del Toro may just have ruined lives as he revealed he would never again work in video games.
Only a couple of days after the one year anniversary of P.T. – one of the scariest games in memory – del Toro has flatly ruled out ever working in video games again.
Speaking to Shacknews at Comic-Con the director said:
I have proven to be the albatross of video games – I joined THQ, and THQ goes broke. I join Kojima, and Kojima leaves Konami. I have decided, in order not to destroy anyone else’s life, I have decided I will never again get involved in video games. Otherwise, I’ll join someone and his house will explode, or something.
It’s a real shame that after some bad experiences, del Toro has been turned off gaming completely, though he has also said he plans to work with Kojima again in the future. Silver linings and all that! You can watch the full interview below, in which del Toro rips out fans’ hearts and proceeds to kick them as they cling to hope on the floor.

In slightly happier news, del Toro did also say that he would still let other people make video games of his films, soooo Pan’s Labyrinth game confirmed? No, probably not.
