In possibly one of the most bizarre gaming news stories of the year, a man has survived being hit by a car that came crashing into his house while he was playing Fallout 4.
Ben Rose was chilling at home in Irving, Texas playing Fallout 4. He was minding his own business, when somebody decided to park their Hyundai Sonata through the wall of his ground floor apartment.
According to CBS‘s local affiliate, the driver of the car was uninsured when the incident occurred, leaving Mr Rose with huge medical bills, a fractured vertebra and a sliced Achilles tendon.
Mr Rose describes the incident:
Cars versus people don’t really end up well. So I really thought it was over. Everybody asks were you walking in your parking lot? Or were you in your car? What do you mean she drove through your apartment?
Rose has attributed his miraculous escape to his specialised gaming chair, which he says stopped him from going under the wheels of the car.
According to Irving police, the driver of the Hyundai hit the accelerator instead of the breaks while the car was backing out of a parking spot outside the building.
Some of Rose’s friends have made a GoFundMe campaign to help support his medical bills and make up for his lost wages. No charges are being filed against the driver of the car.
