Halo 5 Championship Pro League Details Announced

The Halo Championship Pro League was announced last month, and now developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft have shared a few more details on the event, including how one might qualify.

If you follow the heady world of Halo pro players, you’ll probably already know that Counter- Logic Gaming (the winners of the 2016 Halo World Championship) are set to compete in the pro league, which leaves seven remaining spots open for North American teams.

The intention is to have eight North American teams and six European teams. Qualifiers will take place throughout April and May, with the Pro League season taking place in June and July.

Each week of the big season will have the top eight teams competing in two matches a week. Each team are set to play each other twice during the season.

The top four teams will graduate to the Summer 2016 Finals. The fifth and sixth best teams won’t make it to the final, but will bag themselves a guaranteed place in the following season. The seventh and eighth-placed teams will have to compete to keep their spots, and presumably the losers will be quietly taken out back and shot.

All qualifying matches will be set on the same map and game type as the Halo World Championship 2016 Finals. For more info on the event, step this way.
