Microsoft have confirmed the leaked soundtrack and multiplayer details that surfaced online over the weekend are real.
With the Halo 5 multiplayer still in closed beta, some internet swashbucklers took it upon themselves to share as much of the upcoming shooter as possible. The leak includes 15 minutes of the game’s soundtrack uploaded to YouTube by the HALO memes channel. The music, written by veteran composer Kazuma Jinnouchi (Metal Gear 4: Sons of the Patriots) is as beautiful as you’d expect it to be.
Also leaked were stills from a new game menu, the 12v12 ‘Warzone’ mode. The screenshots show the title screen and customisation options for weapons and armour. Check the images out below.
Microsoft confirmed in a statement to Gamespot the music and images are indeed real:
It’s unfortunate when work-in-progress content leaks, but this Halo 5: Guardians content is part of our ongoing private, external testing for multiplayer. We will continue to rigorously test Halo 5: Guardians to ensure the best possible experience for fans at launch.
Halo 5: Guardians is still set for release on October 27th available only on Xbox One.
