Microsoft It looks like Halo Infinite gameplay is going to be shown off at E3 2019 during Microsoft’s press conference, giving us all our long-awaited glimpse of Master Chief’s next adventure in action.
It’s currently unclear whether or not Halo Infinite will release on the Xbox One, or Microsoft’s next generation of consoles, but recent reports suggest that the game will in fact be released on whatever Xbox hardware is coming next.

GamesRadar reports that Microsoft won’t be showing off any footage of games actually running on the next generation of Xbox hardware, but notes that Halo Infinite will be demoed using a PC and and Xbox controller.
Journalist Microsoft insider Brad Sams described Halo Infinite in his own pre-E3 report as “the first real showing of the next generation game”. He went on to suggest that the reason Microsoft is running the demo on a PC is because the company doesn’t “want the first impression of the new game to be running on the now dated Xbox One hardware.”
Obviously, this very much suggests that Infinite won’t be coming to Xbox One, but these claims are at odds with comments made earlier in the year by Halo franchise development director Frank O’Connor, who said that the game would be released “for Xbox One and appropriately spec’d PCs.”
O’Connor said this back in March, and actually said it as a direct response to previous comments made by Sams, who had previously claimed that the reason we didn’t see Infinite at E3 2018 is because Microsoft “didn’t want to make current-gen stuff look bad.”

I guess there is a chance that the plans for Halo Infinite have changed since March, but I’m not so sure. Maybe Infinite will launch for both Xbox One and the next-gen console, and running the demo on a PC is just the best way to show the game off in all its glory at E3?
We’ll find out for sure during Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference on June 9. During the show, we can also apparently expect to see 14 first-party titles, including – if rumours are to be believed – Fable 4.
