Here’s When To Expect The Battlefield 1 Open Beta

rendition1.imgGood news for anyone desperate to get their hands on the Battlefield 1 beta: a new report suggests it’ll probably be kicking off late August/early September.

Sebastian Moritz, Battlefield’s community manager for Germany, revealed the news during an interview with CmdKrieger, in which he said the open beta for the WWI shooter will start ‘shortly after’ Gamescom 2016.

Gamescom 2016 runs between August 17-21, so it seems a safe bet that we’ll be enjoying the beta by early September at the latest (especially considering the full game launches in October).

EA previously confirmed that the Battlefield 1 beta would begin sometime this summer, so there’s even a chance that the publisher could use Gamescom to make the big announcement.

Moritz also specified that people in the Battlefield Insiders program will, as promised, get early access – three days before everyone else, to be precise.

It’s not too late to sigh up as an Insider. You can do so here, on the official Battlefield website. In addition to that sweet early access, you can also get ‘in-game rewards, exclusive content, and sneak peeks at news about Battlefield’.

Moritz also confirmed that the popular Rush mode will be returning in Battlefield 1, though he didn’t specify how much it’ll differ from previous versions.

As for what modes and maps will be turning up in the anticipated beta, that’s still something DICE and EA are keeping to themselves. Presumably they’ll reveal more nearer the time.

Battlefield 1’s alpha was recently released, which was data-mined to reveal a ton of info on the game. For anyone who wants to wait and enjoy the game on launch, it’ll be coming October 21 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
